People are also receiving PM's also with spam.
I set a password for the Intro forum because that was were all the spam was. If they just go to the next forum down then I'll remove it, but I thought I would give it a try. If somebody wants to post there let me know and I'll send you the password.

Spieg, can you at least set it so new members need approval with either the first login or the first post?

Meh, my idea failed. They just moved down to the next forum.

Yeah, it pretty much junked all the blockers out I guess. Clarkston Cracker said the fix I posted above blocked over 100 users in 10 hours, with only 1 getting through.

this is bs i think we should go with the idea that you need aproval to get an account thats really the only way i can think of it but it sux cause it ruins if for everyone else and we cant just delete them cause they will just make another account

The only downside to the approval idea is that users have to wait for approval. So before someone could post, theyd have to wait for a mod to approve their account.

Well it could work for a short term, there are enough Mods sitting around that should be able to keep up.
Is there any fix on the way to this problem?

I changed it so that a mod has to approve new members.

Hows that work exactly? Do we get a PM or something? I haven't seen anything yet, but the spam is gone so I'm happy.

We pretty much do, I don't think I have ever seen the same IP address sign back up and the username is banned. Other then that, there isn't much you can do to stop the same person from coming back. The problem is that it's not just people, it's computers.
How about a game, I ban you for a week and if you can get back on within that week I will give you a free SWMJ sticker:hmmsign:
